"There is so much that is ugly and awful in life and too little importance placed on what is beautiful in both the physical world and the human experience. As an artist, I want to celebrate the beauty in the world and show it to those too busy to notice." Mary is particularly drawn to lanscapes with lakes or streams and to young chidren and animals as subjects for her work, which she paints with a natural light with strong colors and soft focus.
